The Teen Philanthropy Project
The Community Chest is starting a Teen Philanthropy Club. This club will provide teens with the opportunity to experience the true meaning of charitable giving. There is no charge to participate in the teen philanthropy club.

Constant changes in society led the leadership of The Community Chest to examine the organization’s mission and goals and determine whether we are serving our communities in the best possible ways. In 2015 and 2016 a committee of volunteers, facilitated by consultant, Kirsten Reichert, and chaired by board member, Jayanne Tedesco, engaged in a process of reviewing the past and examining the future of The Community Chest. The questions asked related to how we can continue to address the needs of our communities.
To lead initiatives and support nonprofits that make our communities stronger and benefit people in need in eastern Bergen County
Specific Activities Include:
Providing $200,000 in grants this year to 23 agencies.
Responding to Community Needs
Offering professional development programming to our grantees and the larger nonprofit community.
Monitoring changes in human services needs in Englewood, Tenafly, and Englewood Cliffs.
Bringing together organizations to work together to meet mutual goals.
Improving agency administration through professional development and consultation.
Providing consultation services to corporations and businesses around corporate social responsibility and corporate giving.
Providing volunteer opportunities for adults and students wishing to become involved in philanthropic endeavors.
