Ways to Give

Donate to The Community Chest

The Community Chest supports local agencies and non-profits that provide much needed services in eastern Bergen County.  We also raise and distribute emergency funds during crises, such as the pandemic and Hurricane Ida. We provide complimentary leadership training to agencies’ middle and senior level managers to help make our partner groups more effective.  Whether granted to health and mental services , children and women, food scarcity, or other programs, your charitable donation provides essential resources to improve the lives of so many.

Your contribution of any size is welcome.  Contribute online or mail your check to:

Planned Giving

Leaving a gift to The Community Chest in your will or trust, by beneficiary designation, or another form of planned gift can make a lasting difference to our work. Many gifts cost you nothing now, there is no minimum contribution, and you are not locked into a decision you make today.  Take advantage of a federal regulation allowing individuals who are 70½ or older to use IRA Required Minimum Distribution funds to make tax-free gifts to qualified charitable organizations.  To discuss including The Community Chest in your legacy planning, Contact Shelly Wimpfheimer at shelly@communitychestofenglewood.org or (201) 568-7474.

Scholarships

Each year, The Community Chest provides scholarships to high school students to help financially support their college readiness through preparatory classes, applications and other academic related activities.  We also award scholarships to adults interested in leadership training in the non-profit sector. Help support these efforts by making your contribution today.  Contact Shelly Wimpfheimer at shelly@communitychestofenglewood.org or (201) 568-7474 for more information.

Underwriting

The Community Chest develops and hosts professional development, leadership philanthropy and service and philanthropy programs for elementary and high school students.  Individuals and companies support these valuable programs through underwriting the costs so that we may deliver them to participants at no cost.  If you interested in learning more about an underwriting opportunity, please contact Shelly Wimpfheimer at shelly@communitychestofenglewood.org or (201) 568-7474.

STOCKS/BOND GIFTS

Gifts of stocks or bonds or from Donor Advised Funds are also welcome. When making stock donations donors should call the Executive Director to discuss arrangements.
